My name is Ish, and I\u2019ve been an educator all my life, with 25 years of teaching, tutoring, and mentoring across Malaysia, Vietnam, the USA, and now England. While I grew up in a family of artistic people, I never thought of myself as an artist \u2014 until I began creating art and crafts with my daughter. From kid-sized cardboard pirate ships with spinning wheels to princess carriages and firetrucks, I found joy in making things that sparked imagination and wonder. It was playful, hands-on, and fun \u2014 but I didn\u2019t yet realize it was my soul whispering to create. I also wrote stories with my daughter and have published two children\u2019s books on Amazon, but what thrilled me even more was creating all the illustrations myself, bringing the stories fully to life through my art.<\/p>

My art took on a deeper meaning after a long, painful period of isolation, both physical and emotional. I started painting as a release, especially when I experienced profound realizations. If I didn\u2019t create every few days or weeks, I felt a deep emptiness \u2014 the call to create was strong. At first, I was shy about sharing my work, worried it wasn\u2019t \u201cartistic\u201d ; yet, the calling persisted, eventually leading to the birth of Vela Awakening<\/strong> \u2014 a space where my art can support those going through tough times or awakening journeys, helping them turn inward and reconnect with themselves.<\/p> My art was born in the middle of my spiritual awakening \u2014 during a time of anxiety, chronic illness, and deep inner healing. When words failed me, color and canvas became my therapy. Each painting I create begins as a conversation with my pain and ends as a conversation with my Higher Self. The affirmations within my art are not just words \u2014 they are lived, cried, prayed, and felt.<\/p> Through painting, I\u2019ve learned that healing isn\u2019t about erasing the past; it\u2019s about transforming it into light. My artwork exists to help others do the same \u2014 to remind them that even in darkness, beauty can be created. I believe that when affirmations are embodied through art, they can shift energy, open hearts, and guide us back to self-love.
